Ucayali, Peruvian Amazon
Our ceremonial cacao comes from the lush Ucayali region in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon — one of the world’s most prized origins for fine-flavour cacao. Surrounded by rainforest, nourished by fertile soil and a warm tropical climate, the trees grow, producing beans of exceptional flavour and aroma.
Unlike mass-produced cacao, fine-flavour cacao is prized for its careful cultivation and attentive post-harvest handling. Each harvest is selected by hand, then fermented and gently dried under controlled conditions, allowing its natural character to reveal itself fully.
At Rooted Essence we believe exceptional cacao starts with exceptional origin — every cup reflects generations of growers’ craft and the extraordinary place it comes from.
How we sourceRich, smooth, and naturally balanced.
Deep cacao opens into notes of passionfruit, mango, plum and ripe banana, with light citrus accents, a subtle caramel sweetness, and a gentle floral finish. Every one of these notes is natural — shaped by the Amazon environment and traditional fermentation.
Where does the flavour come from? From the beans themselves. Our cacao is a blend of beans from different cacao trees, each with a taste of its own; together they make one rich, rounded flavour. That is why nothing needs to be added.

Prepare & dose
The method printed on every pack
Finely chop and add your chosen recommended dose of cacao — see the dosage guide.
Add to 200 ml of hot (not boiling) water or plant-based milk.
Whisk until frothy.
Add spices to taste.
TipA teaspoon of honey for a sweeter cup; a pinch of cinnamon adds warmth.
On milkWe don’t recommend soy milk — its higher protein content thickens the cacao quickly; oat, almond or other plant milks work best.
